LOVE ANIMALS? HAVE A DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITY? WE WANT YOU! REGISTER HERE!
WHAT IS IT?
Open Hearts Livestock Show is specifically designed to allow those in our community with developmental disabilities to show rabbits, goats, and/or pigs at this year’s fair without being obligated to own or purchase an animal!
WHO’S INVITED?
We are looking for community members ages 8 to 21* with developmental disabilities (DD) to participate.
THE GOAL.
The goal is to pair those with DD (the showman) to a 4-H mentor so they can compete in a friendly livestock show. A mentor will be with the showman all along the way – teaching them, helping them, and guiding them.
YOUR COMMITMENT.
– REGISTRATION DEADLINE: Thursday, May 15th
– One practice date is scheduled for June 14th. The practice will be an “open house” style, so you can attend anytime between 10 am to 2 pm to work with the animal(s) of your choice
– SHOW DAY: July 4th at 5 pm at Evers Show Arena
HOW TO REGISTER.
To register, you must be committed to the practices for the animals you choose to show on the event day. Click here now to register.
HOW DO I SPONSOR?
