DUTIES:
- Reviews and processes all Human Resources department paperwork and maintains an organized system for all employee-related records and files. Participates in employee recruitment process – coordinates position postings, tracks applications, corresponds with applicants, and completes and organizes pre-hire and new-hire paperwork. Conducts pre-employment and renewal background screenings.
- Completes all aspects of agency payroll within internal system and in accordance with the Marion County Auditor. Maintains employee leave balances, processes paperwork, and produces reports as requested. Participates in FMLA, COBRA, and benefits administration duties as appropriate and as directed.
- Maintains MCBDD Table of Organization and coordinates employee roster / position control number assignments. Tracks and disseminates employee evaluations and certifications, composes FMLA requests and offers outstanding customer service by demonstrating exceptional professionalism, courtesy, and confidentiality.
- Records and distributes meeting minutes for agency committees and departmental meetings in an accurate and timely manner. Manages the record retention schedule and makes recommendations for destruction of appropriate historical documentation. Assists in the indexing of consumer records. Completes other clerical duties as requested for the Human Resources department, as well as the Superintendent’s office.
- Completes and maintains required records, reports, and documentation. Completes additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience. SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification preferred.
- Excellent computer skills (including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook). State of Ohio Notary Public required.
- Valid Ohio Driver’s License, acceptable driving record, and state minimum automobile insurance
- Successful completion of all requested background checks, drug screens, health physical, etc.
- The Human Resource Specialist is expected to uphold the mission and core values of the Marion County Board of Developmental Disabilities and act in a professional, respectful manner. All agency policies, procedures, rules/regulations, and instructions should be followed throughout employment.
WORKDAYS:
Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., 12 months. Weekends, evenings and holidays as required. Overtime eligible.

SALARY SCALE:
Minimum $21.88/hour – Maximum $32.83/hour
