BUILDING AND GROUNDS TECHNICIAN

DUTIES:

  • Perform a combination of facility maintenance, custodial services, groundskeeping, and building security tasks. The position helps ensure that MCBDD buildings and grounds remain clean, safe, secure, and well-maintained.
  • Assists with routine building maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance, performing basic carpentry, painting, electrical, plumbing, and general repair tasks. Cleans, services, and conducts minor repairs on tools and equipment, responds to maintenance requests, and helps complete work orders in a timely manner.
  • Daily custodial responsibilities such as cleaning and disinfecting floors, surfaces, restrooms, kitchens, windows, and common areas. Follows established daily, weekly, and monthly task lists; demonstrates proper cleaning techniques; uses appropriate products, supplies, and equipment; and follows universal precautions and safety protocols. Monitors janitorial supply inventory and communicates product, or equipment needs to the Maintenance Coordinator or supervisor.
    Groundskeeping duties include mowing, trimming, landscaping, weeding, and general outdoor upkeep.
  • Ensures building security by locking facilities, and reporting unusual or suspicious activity, and may interact with after-hours facility users for custodial or security concerns.
  • Completes required logs and documentation, communicates effectively regarding building or maintenance needs.Additional duties may be assigned to support the efficient operation of MCBDD facilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • Experience in maintenance repair work and associated use of relevant tools and equipment required.
  • Valid Ohio Driver’s License, acceptable driving record, and state minimum automobile insurance
  • Successful completion of all requested background checks, drug screens, health physical, etc.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • The Building and Grounds Technician is expected to uphold the mission and core values of the Marion County Board of
  • Developmental Disabilities and act in a professional, respectful manner. All agency policies, procedures, rules/regulations, and instructions should be followed throughout employment.

WORKDAYS:
Monday-Friday, 12:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., 12 months. Weekends and holidays as required. Overtime eligible.

OPERS, health, vision, dental, and life insurance, sick leave, vacation, personal days and paid holidays


SALARY SCALE:
Minimum $18.00/hour – Maximum $26.25/hour
