Kevin Foglesong, director of Program Services has been in the business of helping those with developmental disabilities since high school. He grew up in Mansfield, Ohio and currently lives in Bellville, just down the road from Snow Trails.
His love affair for this work began with job shadowing the Special Olympics Coordinator in Morrow County his junior year of high school. He continued as a volunteer for Special Olympics while living in Denver and also participated in multiple polar plunges.
Even though the job paid half of his salary at the time, and it was an opportunity that was 1200 miles away from his current Colorado residence, he jumped at the chance to become the Special Olympics and Community Integration coordinator position in Marion County. He was hired for that position in 2013 and was then promoted to director of Program Services in 2016.
He loves helping people gain independence in their lives through gainful employment, transportation, reading, and speaking up for themselves.
His greatest wish for the people we serve is for them to have similar opportunities as the general public. In Marion, transportation continues to be a major roadblock for all people who are unable to drive. This hinders their social development and their ability to live independently.
Kevin earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He is married with a son and another on the way. He enjoys the outdoors – camping, fishing, bike rides, hiking, and sports.
