LIFE SKILLS

Return to Services

At Marion County DD, we believe mightly in self-determination. This is the ability for individuals with disabilities to make decisions on their own behalf, such as where they live and work. More simply stated, it is the ability to chase their hopes and dreams.

To meet that end, we offer our individuals the opportunity to learn the skills necessary to live on their own, work and function in the community, and contribute to society. In short, we enhance and improve the quality of their daily activities. Each of our training programs is customized to the specific needs of our individuals.

The skills in our Life Skills program include:

  • Cooking
  • Money management
  • Hygiene
  • Public transportation
  • Appropriate social skills
  • Positive work habits
